XF40V Retro Handheld Game Console Review: Is It Worth Buying?
XF40V Retro Handheld Game Console Review: Is It Worth Buying?
We spent a few days with the XF40V handheld and used it on commutes and at home. The little device boots fast, the 4.0-inch screen looks sharp for classic games, and the preloaded library kept us busy without hunting for ROMs.
The controls feel solid for most titles, though tiny joysticks make some games fiddly. Battery life lasted through several short sessions, but heavier play cut runtime closer to the lower end of what we expected. The open Linux system gives flexibility, but it also means occasional menu or emulator quirks that need patience.
We liked how portable and ready-to-play the XF40V is straight out of the box. If you want a no-fuss retro fix for travel and nostalgia, it delivers. If you need a larger screen or pro-level controls, this isnโt the top choice.
